Enable

You can only use one cloud-based service, either DT Client Portal or Onvio, but not both at the same time.

Setup

Each DT Max user can choose whether or not to use DT Client Portal when using DT Max. Note: To use DT Client Portal, you must have already purchased this product.

Keep in mind that even if you choose yes, you can always choose not to send the tax return to DT Client Portal at print time. For safety reasons, no is the default choice at print time, and the user must consciously choose to send the return.

Login credentials

Enter your Firm ID, as well as the username and password of a DT Staff Portal user. Note: The password will be saved encrypted in your personal preference file.

Before you can save your changes, you first need to click the Validate button to verify that the information that you have entered is correct.

Duplicate documents

You have three options for handling potential duplicates:

  • Overwrite the existing document.
  • Rename the current document and keep the old version.
  • Always ask.

If you choose to overwrite an existing document (via either the first or third option), please note that only the latest document will be overwritten. This is only applicable in cases where you have previously been renaming documents (via either the second or third option).

View the list of registered DT Client Portal accounts

Clicking this link will open a window showing you which of your DT Max clients already have DT Client Portal accounts, along with various technical information.

Warning: For tax years before 2013, changes to the preferences are not permanent. Any changes you make will only remain in effect until DT Max is restarted, which includes restarting the program, changing tax years, and changing languages.
